Global Project Manager

ITech Consult AG seeks a Senior Global Project Manager in Basel for a contract role. The position focuses on medical device development, requiring strong design control and risk management expertise.

This senior position oversees diverse projects across the product lifecycle, from development pipelines to post-approval improvements. The manager operates with significant autonomy, coordinating across global time zones and handling occasional travel to ensure successful delivery of complex initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain inspection-ready Design and Development Plans, including contingency strategies.
• Guide team efforts to achieve project milestones and design control deliverables.
• Foster clear communication and high performance within a regulated setting.
• Align program milestones with the broader Device Team strategy.
• Apply project management best practices for planning, collaboration, risk mitigation, and budget oversight.
• Monitor project schedules and facilitate necessary scope adjustments.
• Integrate deliverables with cross-functional teams and manage linked activities.
• Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Lead team-building activities to sustain a high-performing environment.
• Build networks with stakeholders and other project managers.
• Develop communication tools to keep stakeholders informed of progress and risks.
• Facilitate effective meetings with defined outcomes and follow-up actions.
• Forecast team resources and track project costs.
• Centralize access to project information and manage document repositories.
• Conduct lessons-learned exercises and share insights broadly.
• Navigate business process stage-gates effectively.
• Support the Team Leader with technical advisory and governance reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on project outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8 to 11 years of professional experience.
• At least 5 years in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or biopharmaceuticals.
• Proven expertise in managing drug or medical device development and commercialization.
• Experience with combination products and vendor collaboration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, and Google Suite.
• Deep understanding of 21CFR820.30 design control requirements.
• Ability to manage complex projects independently in fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Fluent English proficiency.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Proficiency in German, Japanese, or Danish.
