Project Engineer

SHL Medical AG seeks a Senior Project Engineer in Zug to lead internal process development projects, coordinating cross-functional teams and equipment qualification within the medical device sector.

This position serves as a cross-functional project leader responsible for managing internal Process Development initiatives. The role involves coordinating with various departments, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers to oversee the commissioning and qualification of equipment for device platforms, reporting directly to the Head of PD CH.

Responsibilities

• Establish project scope, key deliverables, and major milestones in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Create budgets based on the scope of work and monitor project expenditures.
• Facilitate and lead project kick-off sessions and regular status update meetings.
• Develop detailed schedules and activity lists with the team to track progress.
• Proactively identify, prevent, and manage project risks.
• Ensure all documentation is complete, timely, and compliant with SHL Quality System requirements.
• Lead design reviews with equipment suppliers for process layout, optimization, and equipment development.
• Review new equipment design documentation.
• Support the complete project lifecycle such as FAT and SAT with the equipment supplier.
• Coordinate cross-functional internal resources and third parties/vendors for timely execution of the project.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Comply with all quality, safety, and industry regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in project management or lead technical role.
• Strong understanding of project management processes, methods, and tools, particularly related to timelines and budgets.
• Experience in time, risk, stakeholder, and change management.
• Effective communication (written and verbal) in English.
• Experience with digital Project Management tools like MS Project, PLM.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Fluent in written and spoken German.
• B.S in Mechanical Engineering or any related branch of study or technical apprenticeship.
• Hands-on experience in product development from ideation to launch in the Medical Device Industry.
