SHL Medical AG seeks a Mid-level Project Manager to lead complex medical device projects in Switzerland. The role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and stakeholder management skills.
The company is looking for a Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of specific initiatives within its operations. This position focuses on managing major, complex projects in a highly regulated GMP environment, requiring the coordination of various disciplines to deliver high-quality medical devices and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Direct the design and development phases for intricate medical devices and associated equipment.
- Oversee all project disciplines, escalating critical issues to senior management when necessary.
- Ensure discipline leaders understand customer objectives and their specific responsibilities.
- Engage with customers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional leads from project initiation through development.
- Define project scope, objectives, and key milestones in coordination with sponsors and product managers.
- Establish structures to facilitate communication, information flow, and documentation throughout the project.
- Forecast resource needs and assemble a project team with the appropriate skills and experience.
- Prepare budgets based on the scope of work and track costs to ensure alignment with financial targets.
- Collaborate with the project team to create detailed schedules and work plans.
- Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Perform risk management activities to minimize potential issues and escalate identified risks early.
- Manage and track changes to project scope, schedule, and costs, informing relevant parties of impacts.
- Organize and lead regular project team meetings to discuss status, issues, solutions, and actions.
- Provide regular project updates to stakeholders regarding deliverables, adjustments, and progress.
- Adhere to global project management processes, including harmonized practices, methods, and tools.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of project management experience in highly complex areas involving multiple stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of project management processes, methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Advanced skills in time and risk management, with the ability to create comprehensive reports on timeline, budget, and quality status.
- Ability to encourage and enable people to work together as a team to reach common goals.
- Ability to influence decisions that need to be made to make the project successful.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to have
- PMP Certification
- Experience with manufacturing processes including injection molding, machining, rapid prototyping
- Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
- Experience with digital Project Management tools like MS Project
- Experience in GMP production, medical device quality systems, supply chain management, or contract manufacturing
- Medical device Combination product experience
- Experience in international collaboration programs and building professional networks
- Mandarin language skills
