Project Manager R&D (m/w/d)*

SCHOTT Pharma Switzerland seeks a Mid-level Project Manager R&D in St. Gallen to lead complex development projects from initial studies through to market launch, ensuring scope, quality, and budget targets are met.

This position is responsible for steering intricate development and customer initiatives from their earliest stages until they reach the market. The role holder manages project scope, quality, budget, and target costs while acting as the primary liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex development and customer projects from initial studies through to market launch.
• Oversee project execution to ensure adherence to scope, quality standards, budget constraints, and target costs.
• Guide and direct cross-functional project teams to achieve project goals.
• Represent the project to stakeholders, steering committees, and top management, including board-level reporting.
• Facilitate communication by translating technical details for business colleagues and vice versa.
• Travel internationally up to 20% of the time as required.

Requirements

• University degree in Life Science or Engineering.
• At least 4 years of project management experience, preferably in medical device or pharmaceutical packaging product/process development.
• Proven ability to work with and guide multidisciplinary teams within complex organizational structures.
• Knowledge of design control processes, process validation, and relevant standards such as 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and ISO 15378.
• Fluent proficiency in both English and German, written and spoken.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Strategic mindset, business acumen, structured working style, and ability to prioritize tasks.
