Project Manager

Genedata seeks a mid-level Project Manager to lead enterprise software implementations for biopharma and biotech clients. Based in Basel, Switzerland, the role involves end-to-end project delivery, stakeholder coordination, and alignment with biopharma R&D and CMC workflows.

The Project Manager leads customer-facing implementation and consulting projects for Genedata Biologics® and Genedata Bioprocess®, managing them from start to finish. The role combines hands-on delivery with overall accountability for scope, timelines, budgets, and results, reporting to the Head of Project Management within the Genedata Biopharma Consulting team. It is an on-site position at the Basel headquarters with limited travel required.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, high-profile projects for global top-25 biopharma companies and innovative biotech clients.
• Oversee full lifecycle execution of enterprise software implementations and consulting engagements.
• Define, track, and manage project scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
• Act as the main liaison between customer project managers and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate with cross-functional internal delivery teams.
• Plan and supervise deployments, integrations, data migration, and user training efforts.
• Manage projects from requirements gathering and solution design through implementation, configuration, deployment, and global rollout.
• Ensure sustained customer satisfaction across multiple project phases.

Requirements

• A degree in life sciences, engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience in biopharma, biotechnology, or scientific software.
• Several years of experience in project-based, consulting, or technical delivery roles involving enterprise software or IT systems.
• Experience in interdisciplinary settings, working between customers and internal technical or scientific teams.
• Strong understanding of biopharma R&D and/or CMC workflows, including antibody discovery, protein engineering, cell line development, bioprocess development, analytics, lab automation, or manufacturing IT.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Prior experience implementing or consulting on enterprise scientific or laboratory software platforms (on-premises or cloud-hosted).
• Experience in regulated environments (e.g., GxP) or supporting validation-related activities.
• German and/or French language proficiency.
