Solution Software Engineer – Biopharma

Genedata seeks a Senior Solution Software Engineer – Biopharma in Basel to support biopharma customers in extending the Genedata Profiler platform. The role involves developing custom software solutions, data pipelines, and AI components, with a focus on customer collaboration and high-quality delivery.

The Solution Software Engineer – Biopharma supports Genedata’s biopharma clients in applying the Genedata Profiler platform to real-world challenges. The position involves close collaboration with customers and internal teams to design and deliver tailored software solutions that address complex scientific and operational needs. It reports to the Head of Customer Success Team and is part of the Genedata Profiler Business Unit in Basel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to design and deliver software extensions for specific biopharma use cases.
• Manage customer-driven development projects from initial design through implementation, deployment, and final handover.
• Develop and maintain large-scale data pipelines and AI-assisted components to support critical scientific and operational workflows.
• Produce high-quality, production-ready software using established software engineering and DevOps practices in a customer-facing context.

Requirements

• A BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Several years of professional software engineering experience, preferably with Python.
• Practical experience with SQL, including data modeling and performance tuning for large datasets.
• Strong communication skills in English for customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.

Nice to have

• Experience developing applications or dashboards using frameworks like Dash, Shiny, or Streamlit, and conducting data analysis in Python or R.
• Prior experience as a solution developer in digital CMC or other biopharma-related areas.
