Work Selection seeks a Senior Project Leader for External Manufacturing in Rotkreuz. This 1-year onsite role focuses on the industrialization of diagnostic consumables, requiring strong engineering and IVD regulatory expertise.
The company operates a competence center dedicated to parts and products within the diagnostic workflow that are produced by external suppliers. This position leads the design and industrialization of consumables, aiming to deliver key projects that create business value and benefit patients. The assignment is initially for one year, with a high likelihood of extension.
Responsibilities
- Oversee one or more product development projects from start to finish.
- Define project deliverables, including product requirements and specifications, in coordination with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Plan and control project budgets and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress against the plan to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of work packages, including those handled by external partners.
- Lead and manage the project team within a matrix organization structure.
- Foster strong collaboration with internal stakeholders and supplier partners.
- Design and establish manufacturing lines at external sites, covering the entire process from raw material sourcing to final packaging.
- Communicate project status to stakeholders and balance scope, timelines, and budget constraints.
Requirements
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related field (PhD accepted).
- At least 5 years of experience in IVD product development and production engineering.
- Knowledge of Process Management methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
- Familiarity with in-vitro diagnostic regulations, including ISO 13485, IVDR, and FDA 21 CFR part 820.
- Proven experience in managing external manufacturing collaborations.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel internationally for 10-20% of the time.
