Strategic Operating Model Partner

Roche seeks a Senior Strategic Operating Model Partner in Basel to drive commercial excellence and evolve operating models within Pharma International’s COMET team.

This position sits within Roche’s Commercialization Operating Model Effectiveness Team (COMET) and functions as a seasoned expert combining industry knowledge with consulting capabilities. The role exists to shape and refine the company’s operating model, ensuring operational and commercial excellence while delivering tangible business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Leverage deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical sector, including market growth factors, key assets, regulatory environments, and competitor movements.
• Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing strategic insights that support Roche’s commercial goals.
• Review and improve current customer engagement approaches to boost efficiency and customer value.
• Promote continuous improvement by expanding successful commercial practices, enabling cross-border knowledge sharing, and advancing omnichannel capabilities.
• Develop strategies to enhance operating model performance and manage large-scale organizational changes, balancing immediate needs with long-term goals.
• Think systemically to recognize patterns and connections across global teams and regions, ensuring initiatives scale effectively.
• Connect global strategy with local execution, reducing operational friction and building on regional successes.
• Coach senior leaders and challenge decisions with evidence-based recommendations to strengthen strategic discussions.
• Lead high-stakes discussions with clarity, aligning diverse viewpoints to improve commercial performance.
• Use advanced consulting and project management methods to address complex, multi-layered business problems.
• Create decision-making frameworks and build stakeholder relationships to improve governance and sustain change momentum.
• Develop persuasive communication materials and frameworks to influence senior decision-makers.
• Maintain operational rhythms and meeting protocols for leadership forums, keeping teams aligned with outcome-focused agendas.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of consulting experience at a top-tier firm, with demonstrated success in designing and implementing operating models for global organizations.
• Experience working within or alongside the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• A proven ability to solve complex, multi-faceted business challenges with clarity and precision.
