Seasonal contract position for English teachers and activity leaders at ALPADIA Language Schools in Leysin, Switzerland. Candidates must be 20+ with teaching or camp experience, C2 English, and own a computer with HDMI. The role includes teaching, leading activities, and ensuring student safety in an immersive language environment.
This seasonal role at ALPADIA Language Schools, part of Kaplan International Languages, supports language and activity programs for children and teenagers. The position aims to promote language learning through immersion and broaden students’ horizons, offering a career-boosting experience with a well-known educational organization.
Responsibilities
- Teach English or French to non-native speakers, Monday to Friday, across 4 to 5 daily periods.
- Lead sports, cultural, and creative activities, organize themed evenings, and accompany students on excursions.
- Deliver lessons exclusively in the target language to ensure full immersion, following the syllabus and using provided materials.
- Design and deliver engaging lessons for various levels and guide students through weekly projects.
- Attend pedagogical meetings and write personalized feedback for each student at the end of their stay.
- Oversee afternoon activities and themed events, and assist with student excursions.
- Ensure student safety and well-being at all times.
- Participate in daily camp routines including wake-up, bedtime, attendance checks, welcoming new students, and organizing departures.
- Enforce camp rules and monitor attendance for classes, activities, and meals.
Requirements
- Must be at least 20 years old.
- Prior experience in teaching (classroom, tutoring, or academic support) and/or leading activities for teenagers.
- Proven experience working with youth aged 13–17.
- Previous involvement in holiday camps or similar programs.
- C2 proficiency in English (native or near-native level).
- Comfortable using video projectors for lesson delivery (mandatory).
- Own a personal computer with HDMI connectivity (mandatory).
Nice to have
- Certifications such as CELTA, TEFL, or TESOL.
- Good level of French.
- First aid, swimming, and valid driving license certifications.
- Experience with BAFA, Youth & Sports, or DEGJ qualifications.
