Supervisor, Quality Control Microbiology

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Supervisor, Quality Control Microbiology in Schaffhausen, CH, to lead a team and ensure compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards in a sterile environment. The role requires a scientific degree, team leadership experience, and fluency in German and English.

This position is part of the Quality Control Microbiology department, where the supervisor leads a team to maintain efficient and compliant laboratory operations, supporting product quality and regulatory readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment
• Manage daily lab operations and ensure effective planning and execution of tasks
• Coordinate cross-functional projects between QC and QA, supporting continuous improvement efforts
• Handle deviations by conducting root cause analyses and implementing CAPAs
• Oversee equipment qualification, maintenance, and decommissioning throughout its lifecycle
• Help design and improve lab systems and GMP documentation
• Prepare and review GMP documents, including trend reports and quality records
• Ensure adherence to cGMP, internal procedures, and external regulations (USP, EP, FDA, EU guidelines)
• Represent the team during regulatory inspections and customer audits, ensuring readiness
• Provide training and encourage knowledge sharing within the team
• Participate in budget planning and resource allocation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Food Technology, or a related scientific field
• Several years of experience in microbiology quality control or sterile environments
• Proven experience in team leadership or project coordination within a regulated setting
• Understanding of EU and FDA regulations, as well as cGMP and cGLP standards
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
• Structured and solution-focused problem-solving skills
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
• Proficiency in MS Office tools
