gloor & lang ag seeks a Senior Microbiology Specialist for a 6-month on-site contract in Neuchâtel. The role supports QC testing, compliance, and lab excellence in a regulated pharmaceutical setting.
This 6-month contract position places a specialist within the Quality Control team of a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment. The primary purpose is to ensure laboratory excellence through rigorous microbiological testing, data verification, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct microbiological analyses on raw materials, intermediates, finished goods, and samples from environmental and utility monitoring.
- Carry out release and stability testing using validated methods and compendial standards.
- Verify laboratory data to maintain strict adherence to GMP regulations.
- Assist with daily lab operations, including reagent preparation, inventory control, sample handling, and equipment upkeep.
- Lead investigations into laboratory deviations and support change control processes.
- Draft and maintain laboratory procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Train team members and contribute to projects focused on process optimization and digitalization.
- Partner with cross-functional groups and assist during internal and regulatory inspections.
Requirements
- A Laboratory Technician qualification with 12+ years of practical experience, or a Bachelor's/Master's degree in a scientific field with 1-2 years of relevant QC Microbiology experience.
- Proven hands-on background in QC Microbiology within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
- Deep expertise in environmental monitoring, water testing, microbiological methods, and contamination control strategies.
- Strong understanding of cGMP, microbiological best practices, and laboratory information systems (LIMS).
- Experience managing laboratory investigations, deviations, CAPAs, and technical documentation.
- Fluency in both English and French, written and spoken.
