The company seeks an Entry Level Sampler and Pharma Microbiology Analyst in Schönenwerd. This hybrid role combines utility and environmental sampling with microbiological testing to ensure GMP compliance within the Quality Control team.
This position sits within the Quality Control Microbiology team in Schönenwerd. The primary purpose is to ensure adherence to GMP and regulatory standards by performing both environmental and utility sampling alongside routine microbiological laboratory analyses.
Responsibilities
- Execute aseptic sampling of utilities such as purified water, WFI, compressed air, gases, and clean steam in compliance with GMP.
- Conduct environmental monitoring activities, including viable and non-viable air sampling, as well as surface and personnel checks.
- Perform routine microbiological tests, including bioburden, endotoxin (e.g., LAL), TOC, and conductivity analyses.
- Read environmental monitoring plates and evaluate trends for microbial data.
- Carry out basic microbial identification procedures.
- Record all sampling activities and data using LIMS and digital batch records.
- Prepare media, reagents, and test materials strictly following standard operating procedures.
- Support deviation investigations, CAPAs, and general process improvements.
- Coordinate and manage sampling schedules, prioritizing time-critical tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in Life Sciences, such as Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Strong grasp of microbiology principles, aseptic techniques, and GMP regulations.
- Very good proficiency in German and good proficiency in English.
- Valid Driver’s Licence B.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in microbiology, environmental monitoring, utility sampling, or GMP laboratory environments.
- Knowledge of the French language.
