Julius Bär seeks a Senior System Engineer in Zürich to manage the Automic job scheduling platform, ensuring operational stability and leading small IT projects within a specialist team.

This position places the engineer within a team of specialists who operate the virtual engine room of the bank. The primary focus is maintaining the Automic (AWA/UC4) job scheduling platform, which serves as a critical component for numerous essential banking processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the continuous operation of the system management infrastructure.
  • Acting as the single point of contact and providing on-duty support.
  • Executing both minor and major release implementations.
  • Managing infrastructure lifecycle activities.
  • Delivering third-level support for the AWA job scheduling platform.
  • Documenting operational knowledge and procedures.
  • Optimizing and automating operational workflows.
  • Serving as the technical lead for small IT projects.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with job scheduling in medium to large enterprise settings.
  • Deep expertise in Windows and Linux operating systems, alongside Oracle database management.
  • Proficiency in scripting using Shell, Windows Scripting, and UC4 scripts.
  • Several years of senior-level experience as an AWA or UC4 Administrator.
  • A strong engineering mindset.
  • Possession of an ITIL Foundation Certification.
  • Fluent command of both German and English languages.
