The company seeks a Senior System Engineer in Zürich to design and deliver infrastructure automation solutions using vRealize (Aria) and Crossplane, driving efficiency through self-service offerings.
This position focuses on expanding the organization's infrastructure automation capabilities. The role involves creating scalable platforms that allow product teams to independently manage their infrastructure and resource requirements, supported by a DevOps-driven culture.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and deploy automation tools leveraging vRealize (Aria) Automation and Crossplane.
- Create and sustain vRealize (Aria) Orchestrator workflows, alongside Crossplane providers and functions built with Golang and the Kubernetes Operator pattern.
- Partner with diverse teams to align technical execution with broader business goals and strategic directions.
- Offer technical guidance to the group and help shape long-term technical roadmaps.
- Diagnose and fix intricate issues within vRealize Automation and Orchestration, suggesting enhancements.
- Monitor emerging trends in cloud computing, virtualization, and automation to refine existing solutions.
- Draft technical documentation, including design specifications, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
- Adhere to industry standards, best practices, and internal policies.
Requirements
- At least two years of hands-on experience building and running Kubernetes Operators, preferably with Golang and Crossplane.
- Three or more years designing, implementing, and managing automation solutions via vRealize (Aria) Automation.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes and the cloud-native ecosystem.
- Solid grasp of IT infrastructure components like Windows, Linux, Active Directory, and Cisco technologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cloud computing, virtualization, and automation tools, including VMware vSphere, vCenter, and NSX.
- Familiarity with software development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools.
- Understanding of IT service management frameworks like ITIL, agile methodologies, and version control systems such as Git.
- Proficiency in Golang and scripting languages including Javascript, PowerShell, or Python.
- Demonstrated success in leading technical projects and teams, managing multiple stakeholders and vendors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Quick learner with a proactive approach to complex requirements.
- Background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Fluent English proficiency.
