Infrastructure Software Engineer

Namespace · schweiz

Namespace seeks a Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer in Switzerland to build and maintain its developer platform, focusing on high-performance networking, fleet automation, and reliability.

Namespace develops a developer infrastructure platform designed to speed up product development by removing delays in CI, builds, and testing. This position is responsible for the software that powers the company's hardware, including control planes, automation systems, and observability tools, ensuring builds are faster and more cost-effective while integrating seamlessly with existing workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Build services to automate fleet management, including provisioning, health monitoring, upgrades, and incident response.
  • Ensure system reliability by incorporating observability, graceful degradation, and rollback mechanisms across all layers.
  • Design and evolve a high-throughput, low-latency network fabric optimized for high-performance use cases.
  • Write clean, testable code primarily in Go, treating the fleet as a first-class API.
  • Improve efficiency by optimizing utilization and power-to-performance ratios to ensure capacity scales slower than usage.
  • Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and platform teams to deliver features such as storage-aware scheduling and cache volumes.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience engineering large-scale infrastructure and writing software that runs fleets, rather than just operating existing hyperscalers.
  • Strong expertise in network architecture, data-center design, and performance tuning.
  • Practical experience deploying and managing compute hardware at scale, including servers and switches.
  • Proficiency with modern orchestration and automation tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible, along with the judgment to decide when to build versus buy.
  • A proven track record of delivering reliable systems and achieving measurable efficiency improvements.

What the company offers

  • Competitive salary and stock options.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Market-leading parental leave.
