Senior Software Engineer

ITech Consult AG seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Kaiseraugst to lead large-scale Kubernetes operations and automation. The role focuses on scalable systems, Python, and open-source contributions.

The team manages Kubernetes operations at a massive scale, deploying and controlling thousands of clusters worldwide. This position demands end-to-end automation, robust APIs, intuitive user interfaces, and reliable orchestration. The group aims to set a new standard for the entire industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and contribute to open-source projects.
• Draft and execute design documents (RFCs).
• Create documentation and maintain comprehensive automated test coverage.
• Act as a technical role model and guide the team in software engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Self-driven engineer with a strong sense of ownership.
• Over seven years of software engineering experience, preferably in large-scale or high-growth settings.
• Solid expertise in scalable systems and contemporary engineering methods.
• Recent practical experience using Python.
• Background in compute infrastructure and platforms.
• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, including its concepts and operations.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms like AWS.
• Experience in test automation, particularly with pytest.
• Proactive, solution-focused attitude with a willingness to take charge.
• Fluent English proficiency is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Familiarity or experience with HashiCorp Vault, FluxCD, Kustomize, Terraform, Grafana, GitLab, Slack, and Linear.
