System Engineer (F/M/D)

CSEM is seeking a Senior System Engineer in Neuchâtel to design, operate, and improve Linux-based platforms and cloud infrastructure while focusing on automation and containerized environments.

This position blends project-based engineering with ongoing operational duties, centering on the creation and maintenance of Linux-based systems, containerized platforms, and cloud services. The role aims to enhance reliability and efficiency through automation while providing essential support to internal engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and manage Linux-based systems and platforms.
• Participate in technical initiatives focused on platform upgrades and service enhancements.
• Oversee and maintain containerized setups, particularly those utilizing Kubernetes.
• Run and support cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
• Build and sustain automation tools to boost operational efficiency and system reliability.
• Handle operational support, including incident investigation and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with IT support and the Service Desk.
• Keep documentation up to date and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• At least five years of experience as a System Engineer.
• Deep expertise in Linux systems administration.
• Practical experience with containers and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on background with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, including service deployment and support.
• Demonstrated experience in automation, including scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management.
• Experience managing production services.
