Network Engineer - CDD 6 months

Swissquote seeks a Senior Network Engineer for a 6-month CDD role in Gland, CH. The position involves firewall and proxy infrastructure management, L1 support, and daily operational oversight. Candidates must have expertise in firewall systems, datacenter fabrics, and incident resolution.

This role focuses on maintaining and evolving the network and security infrastructure, including firewall and proxy systems. It requires daily operational oversight, change management, and support for network-related incidents, ensuring alignment with security policies and team processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily team health checks and compile status reports
• Process, validate, and implement firewall opening requests following the team’s security and change-control procedures
• Act as the main contact for Level-1 support tickets, diagnose network-related issues, and escalate complex cases to relevant experts
• Design, secure, and enhance the firewall and proxy infrastructure in collaboration with the team
• Deliver advanced troubleshooting and technical support for network and security incidents

Requirements

• Proven experience with firewall and proxy technologies such as Palo Alto, FortiGate, Check-Point, and Squid
• Solid knowledge of datacenter fabric architectures and routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, and EVPN
• Track record in handling L1/L2 network incidents and conducting root-cause analysis
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience collaborating across technical and business teams and influencing decisions at all levels

Nice to have

• Experience in securing Kubernetes workloads and networking
