Senior Network Engineer, 100%

Telecom26 AG seeks a Senior Network Engineer in Zug to manage and optimize its global, borderless mobile network infrastructure for enterprise clients.

This position supports the operation of a worldwide mobile network that connects enterprise customers across borders. The engineer will focus on maintaining high availability, improving performance, and automating network management tasks for this distributed infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and upkeep the international enterprise network infrastructure.
• Optimize network performance and guarantee reliable uptime for globally distributed systems.
• Build and manage configuration management tools focused on network device administration.
• Develop scripts and utilities to help teams leverage the existing infrastructure more effectively.
• Track network and system health, and perform repairs when outages occur.

Requirements

• Fluent proficiency in English.
• Proven background in IP/MPLS networking and security architecture within multi-vendor setups.
• Hands-on experience designing and troubleshooting dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
• Familiarity with firewall solutions (Juniper SRX, iptables), security standards, and load balancing methods like VRRP and CARP.
• Understanding of VPN and tunneling protocols including IPsec, L2TP, GRE, VTI, and GTPv2.
• Working knowledge of Cisco IOS/NXOS and Juniper JunOS operating systems.
• Competence in scripting languages like bash or python, alongside automation platforms such as ansible or awx.
• Experience using network diagnostic tools (tcpdump, Wireshark) and monitoring solutions (SNMP, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Ability to integrate physical networks with cloud services via AWS Direct Connect or Azure ExpressRoute.
• Solid understanding of IPv6 networking.

Nice to have

• Prior exposure to Radius, Diameter, TACACS, and DNS systems.
• Background in mobile packet data network technologies such as GGSN, PGW, or GRX.
