System Engineer - Active Directory Specialist

The company seeks a Senior System Engineer specializing in Active Directory to manage and enhance Microsoft and Citrix infrastructure in a regulated banking environment in Geneva.

This position plays a key part in overseeing and optimizing systems built on Microsoft and Citrix platforms. The specialist ensures that IT services remain highly available, performant, and secure while operating within the strict regulatory framework of a rapidly expanding private bank.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and administer Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, PKI, DFS, and MS Teams.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to AD replication, DNS, and Group Policy Objects.
• Enforce security protocols, including password rules, account lockout measures, and auditing standards.
• Connect Active Directory with Office 365, Azure AD, and external applications.
• Create and update PowerShell scripts to automate daily tasks and generate reports.
• Build and upkeep disaster recovery strategies for Active Directory.
• Establish and manage Root and Intermediate Certificate Authorities.
• Configure and support Citrix technologies.
• Deliver production support for Microsoft environments to guarantee reliability and performance.
• Handle complex incidents and problems to reduce downtime and business impact.
• Deploy system monitoring tools like SCOM and NIMSOFT to detect issues early.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and improve systems.
• Maintain compliance with security policies through regular audits and updates.
• Perform root cause analysis for significant incidents and lead problem management efforts.
• Create and update documentation for system configurations, procedures, and service records.
• Participate in a monthly on-call rotation providing 24/7 support.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure, including AD, DHCP, and SCOM.
• Extensive experience with PKI and certificate management.
• Proficiency in Exchange 2019.
• Advanced skills in PowerShell scripting.
• Strong expertise in MS Teams.
• Competence in Ansible.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Citrix.
• Experience with AirWatch MDM Mobility platform.
• Knowledge of Intune.
