Talend Engineer

A mid-level Talend Engineer is needed for an on-site role in Luzern, focusing on data integration and ETL optimization within a retail IT team. Fluency in French and English is required.

This position supports the IT department of a retail organization. The main goal is to guarantee that data moves smoothly and accurately between different systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle data integration and transformation tasks.
• Improve the speed, scale, and stability of current ETL jobs.
• Find performance bottlenecks and apply fixes to boost efficiency.
• Look for ways to automate and enhance data integration workflows.
• Use the ELK stack to analyze data for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Write and keep technical documentation for ETL processes up to date and accessible.
• Fix complex data integration problems and ETL job failures.
• Conduct root cause analysis and put measures in place to prevent future issues.
• Offer Level 3 support to operational teams.
• Monitor service levels, including performance, availability, errors, and logs.
• Establish and enforce data quality standards for accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain Control-M and Axway platforms for optimal, secure, and reliable performance.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related area.
• Hands-on experience with ETL development, specifically using Talend.
• Proven background in data integration.
• Familiarity with ITIL 4F, MS/Linux systems, PowerShell, Java, Git, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or comparable tools.
• Fluent command of both French and English.
