Test Engineer for unit testing HS/SW - HW Unit & Subsystem Testing Focus m/w/d

Coopers Group AG seeks a Test Engineer in Rotkreuz to lead V&V activities for medical diagnostic systems, focusing on unit testing and hardware-software integration.

The company is looking for a professional to manage the verification and validation of Blood Gas & Electrolytes analyzers. This position acts as the technical link during integration, ensuring that hardware and software components work together safely and reliably while overseeing unit specifications and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Manage unit specifications and handle configuration and item management tasks.
• Create, prepare, and run automated test suites, cases, and protocols for verification and validation.
• Perform accelerated life testing, durability assessments, and wear-and-tear evaluations.
• Construct and assemble custom test setups, fluidic rigs, and necessary fixtures.
• Write Python scripts to automate test rig control and collect data.
• Analyze defect root causes and offer design feedback to improve manufacturability.
• Work closely with software, firmware, and systems engineering teams.

Requirements

• A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Biomedical Engineering, or an equivalent higher vocational education.
• Between 3 and 10+ years of practical experience in hardware testing, mechatronic verification, or product development.
• Demonstrated background in regulated medical device, IVD, or life sciences sectors, including knowledge of FDA or MDR standards.
• Professional-level proficiency in English is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Fluency or a strong understanding of the German language.
