Verification & Validation Engineer

Sentec, a Swiss-American medical device company, is seeking a Verification & Validation Engineer in Therwil to lead V&V planning and execution for respiratory care products, ensuring compliance and timely delivery of technical documentation.

The company develops advanced respiratory care devices in-house and aims to improve clinical practice and healthcare outcomes. This role ensures that all development outputs meet rigorous verification and validation standards, providing the necessary evidence for technical documentation and regulatory approvals.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of verification and validation activities for product and system-level development outputs across various product lines.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive V&V plan that outlines scope, methods, acceptance criteria, responsibilities, and timelines aligned with project milestones.
• Ensure end-to-end traceability from requirements and risk controls to test cases and results, documenting test evidence for technical documentation.
• Coordinate with Development, RA/QA, Systems Engineering, and Production/Service teams to plan tests, clarify acceptance criteria, and resolve V&V findings.
• Define test concepts and implement manual and automated tests, including test method development where needed.
• Drive continuous improvements in V&V methodology to increase efficiency during project phases.
• Manage collaboration with external test labs and suppliers to organize and execute approval and qualification tests.
• Apply a risk-based approach to V&V planning and assess the impact of design changes on V&V plans.
• Track V&V progress and quality, providing clear status reporting and escalations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in medical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
• Proactive mindset with high initiative and ownership, demonstrating end-to-end accountability.
• Structured and reliable work approach, with the ability to plan and prioritize across multiple parallel topics and stakeholders.
• Very good communication skills in English, including clear technical documentation and cross-functional coordination.

Nice to have

• At least 2+ years of professional experience in product and/or software testing, including manual and automated testing in a regulated industry.
• Experience with test tools/environments and data analysis to efficiently execute and interpret tests, with automation being a plus.
