This executive role is responsible for guiding major acquisitions and divestments, influencing top-level investment decisions, and securing external innovation to shape the company’s future portfolio. The position requires strategic leadership and execution across complex transactions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of major acquisitions and divestments, from initial strategy to closing.
- Advise senior leadership on transaction strategy, valuation, risk, and capital allocation, collaborating with finance, legal, tax, and business unit leaders.
- Manage complex cross-functional teams in competitive settings, ensuring clear decision-making and high-quality materials for executive committees and the Board.
- Oversee corporate diligence, governance, and approval processes, and support post-closing integration readiness and knowledge transfer.
- Build internal transaction expertise by leading a small team, mentoring junior deal professionals, and maintaining strong ties with external advisors.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading complex, end-to-end M&A deals across various structures, industries, and regions.
- Extensive background in corporate strategy, valuation, financial modelling, scenario analysis, and evaluating value creation.
- Strong ability to assess and manage strategic, financial, operational, legal, and regulatory risks in high-stakes deals.
- Credibility and presence to lead senior cross-functional teams and engage effectively with executive stakeholders and boards.
Nice to have
- An academic background in life sciences is preferred, with advanced degrees being advantageous.
