ABB seeks a Mid-level Software Developer in Quartino, CH, to build and maintain .NET desktop applications within its R&D team.

This position sits within the Research and Development division, focusing on the creation and improvement of business-critical desktop software on the Microsoft .NET platform. The developer will report to the Principal Technical Support Engineer and work alongside cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build, update, and support desktop applications using C#, .NET, and WPF.
  • Partner with engineers, domain specialists, and stakeholders to design robust software.
  • Diagnose and fix software defects while optimizing application speed and stability.
  • Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and the adoption of development standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in software development using C# and the .NET ecosystem.
  • Experience with WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) and solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
  • Knowledge of software design patterns, application architecture, MVVM, dependency injection, and modern .NET development practices.
  • Basic understanding of DevOps concepts, CI/CD practices, testing methodologies, and Agile/Scrum ways of working.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
