Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (EASA Part 147) - B1/B2 Basic Training

AMAC Aerospace seeks a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Instructor in Basel to launch a new EASA Part-147 MTO, delivering B1/B2 basic training and defining initial standards.

AMAC Aerospace Switzerland AG is establishing a new Maintenance Training Organisation (MTO) to provide EASA Part-66 Basic Training for Category B1.1 (Mechanical) and B2 (Avionics). This role is pivotal in shaping the training content and standards from the ground up, ensuring full compliance with EASA regulations and FOCA/BAZL expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Examination Manager in maintaining the exam question database in compliance with Part 147 regulations.
  • Deliver classroom-based training for EASA Part-66 modules covering B1.1 and/or B2 categories.
  • Create and update lesson plans, learning materials, exercises, and assessment checks.
  • Help structure the curriculum and plan module coverage.
  • Ensure all training content aligns with EASA Part-66/147 standards and FOCA guidelines.
  • Conduct supervised practical training sessions focusing on tools, safety, workmanship, and maintenance practices.
  • Coach students through practical tasks and required skill elements.
  • Maintain accurate records and evidence of practical training completion.
  • Promote a safety culture consistent with aviation maintenance standards.
  • Contribute to developing training processes, templates, and standardized documentation.
  • Support the setup of instructor competence records and training documentation.
  • Participate in internal readiness reviews and, if required, FOCA audits/visits as a Subject Matter Expert.

Requirements

  • Hold an EASA Part-66 License for Category B1 and/or B2.
  • Demonstrate strong regulatory knowledge of EASA Part-66, Part-147, and FOCA/BAZL oversight expectations in Switzerland.
  • Have solid hands-on experience in an EASA Part-145 maintenance environment (Line and/or Base).
  • Show ability to communicate technical content clearly and consistently.
  • Possess very good written and spoken English proficiency, as training is conducted in English.
  • Have prior experience as an instructor in Part-147, Part-145 internal training, or vocational education.
  • Experience as a Practical Assessor or competence evaluator.
  • Be familiar with training documentation systems, LMS tools, or digital exam/training platforms.
  • Have experience supporting audits, compliance checks, or training organization documentation (e.g., MTOE-related procedures).
  • Have experience working with international trainees (e.g., airline-sponsored cohorts).

Nice to have

  • Hold both B1 and B2 licenses.
  • Have proficiency in German and/or French.
