A mid-level Economic Affairs Consultant is needed for a 12-month contract in Bern, Switzerland. The role focuses on strengthening international economic relations and fostering cross-border business cooperation within the public sector.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Switzerland's economic environment, including industry trends, market shifts, and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct research to identify emerging market developments and opportunities for international cooperation.
  • Establish and maintain connections with private sector partners, academic institutions, innovation hubs, and investment groups.
  • Facilitate and support collaborative projects, particularly those involving business, technology, and investment.
  • Assist in organizing and executing meetings, events, and delegations that encourage cross-border interaction.
  • Draft and deliver high-quality written content, including market analyses, strategic briefs, presentations, and reports.
  • Track the business landscape and provide regular updates and insights to internal teams.
  • Contribute to ongoing initiatives designed to reinforce economic connections and commercial exchange.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Economics, International Economics, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • Demonstrate fluency in both German and English.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and research skills.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Show a genuine interest in international economic relations, trade promotion, and market collaboration.
  • Ability to spot opportunities, develop initiatives, and implement them successfully.
  • Maintain a commercial mindset capable of converting insights into actionable partnerships.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in the public or non-profit sector is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in French and/or Italian is advantageous.
