(Senior) Consultant - EY Parthenon, Financial Services - M&A Advisory

Ernst & Young AG seeks a Senior Consultant for its Financial Services M&A Advisory team in Zürich. The role focuses on transaction diligence, valuation, and strategic advisory within the mid-market sector.

This position sits within the Transactions Corporate Finance (TCF) department, contributing to one of the leading mid-market M&A teams in Switzerland and globally. The consultant will engage in high-profile sell-side and buy-side transactions specifically within the financial services industry, handling diligence, valuation, and economic modeling.

Responsibilities

• Create and evaluate essential transaction documents such as information memoranda, teasers, process materials, and management presentations.
• Build and assess financial models and valuations using methods like market multiples, precedent transactions, and DCF analyses.
• Guide M&A deals from initial origination to final closing, managing workstreams and liaising with internal and external parties.
• Analyze industries, markets, and companies to aid strategic decisions and transaction execution.
• Identify potential targets and buyers by developing long and short lists for screening.
• Coordinate due diligence efforts, pinpoint critical findings, and convert them into practical recommendations.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining high quality and meeting strict deadlines.
• Assist in business development by preparing pitches and proposals.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline, with strong academic performance.
• Two to four years of professional experience, preferably in M&A, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Deal Advisory, or Private Equity.
• Proven track record in executing transactions, including financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, and stakeholder management.
• Fluent written and verbal communication skills in both English and German.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.

• Proficiency in French is considered a significant advantage.
