KPMG AG in Zürich seeks a Mid-level Consultant for Deal Advisory, focusing on valuation and financial modelling for M&A and restructuring clients.

The team supports clients in creating, growing, and preserving value through activities such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, post-merger integrations, restructurings, and dispute resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Perform valuations of companies and intangible assets, alongside market research and cost of capital analyses.
  • Build complex, integrated financial models to support client decisions.
  • Engage in projects including fairness opinions, M&A pricing analysis, accounting and tax valuations, and arbitration support.
  • Value intricate financial instruments such as options, derivatives, structured products, and complex debt.
  • Collaborate with international corporations and mid-market firms, often in cross-border settings.
  • Interact directly with clients and coordinate with internal specialists in due diligence, restructuring, accounting, tax, and legal.
  • Contribute to proposal development and marketing efforts.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Solid numerical, analytical, and modelling capabilities, with deep knowledge of financial analysis and traditional valuation techniques like DCF and multiples.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French, English, and German.

Nice to have

  • Prior professional experience in corporate finance within an international context.
  • Familiarity with valuation methods for securities (e.g., options, derivatives) and modelling techniques like Monte-Carlo simulations or lattice models.
  • Knowledge of additional languages beyond the core three.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks in complex, demanding environments.
