Associate Banking & Finance / Transactions

Schellenberg Wittmer in Geneva seeks a Swiss-qualified Associate for its Banking & Finance team. The role involves handling syndicated loans, structured finance, and fintech matters, requiring fluency in English and French.

This position aims to bolster the existing team of over twenty qualified Swiss lawyers who possess deep expertise in the local regulatory landscape. The successful candidate will work directly with clients on complex financial transactions, contributing to a dynamic and supportive practice environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to clients regarding syndicated loan facilities and acquisition finance deals.
• Oversee structured finance matters, including securitizations, derivatives, and various structured products.
• Manage transactions involving the acquisition or disposal of banks and client portfolios, as well as banking sector reorganizations.
• Advise on fintech issues related to launching new companies and business models, particularly those involving blockchain technology.

Requirements

• Hold Swiss legal qualification.
• Demonstrate fluency in both English and French.
• Possess a good command of the German language.
• Have prior professional experience within the banking and finance sector.
