Team-Head Legal Entities / Client Data Management Office

Bank J Safra Sarasin seeks a Senior Team-Head for Legal Entities within the Client Data Management Office in Basel. The role leads the team, manages client onboarding processes, and ensures regulatory compliance.

This position leads the Legal Entities team inside the Client Data Management Office. The primary purpose is to oversee the review and processing of client documentation and data, ensuring accuracy and completeness throughout the entire client lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Directing a group of Client Data Officers focused on Legal Entities.
• Overseeing the review and processing of all new account openings to maintain operational efficiency.
• Serving as the main liaison for Relationship Managers, offering guidance on account opening standards and resolving documentation gaps.
• Coordinating between various internal stakeholders such as Front Office, Legal, Compliance, and IT to align objectives.
• Driving projects that enhance bank processes and tools, while standardizing documentation to meet CDB regulations and internal directives.
• Facilitating the transition from paper-based client files to digital onboarding systems.
• Managing both physical and electronic static data for clients from start to finish.
• Maintaining high client satisfaction by promptly and effectively handling escalated issues.
• Building a comprehensive understanding of the bank’s products, services, and internal procedures.

Requirements

• A banking apprenticeship or an equivalent academic degree.
• Minimum of five years of experience in Private Banking, ideally as an Onboarding Specialist or Compliance Officer.
• Expert knowledge of CDB regulations, particularly regarding Legal Entities, along with solid understanding of AML, FATCA/QI, and CRS rules.
• Strong abilities in prioritization, organization, and analytical thinking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a hands-on approach and reliable teamwork.
• Proven capacity to take ownership, work effectively under pressure, and set clear priorities.
• Fluency in both English and German.
