BESS Project Engineer

enshift AG seeks a Mid-level BESS Project Engineer in Baar, CH, to manage battery energy storage projects, conduct feasibility studies, and support AI-driven energy forecasting in an on-site role.

This position supports the company’s mission to accelerate the energy transition by delivering sustainable technological solutions via a digital platform. The engineer analyzes energy data to aid AI-based price and energy forecasts, generating actionable insights from operational and financial performance metrics for real estate and industrial clients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and record battery potential within the company’s project pipeline.
• Perform technical and commercial feasibility assessments for BESS initiatives.
• Create concepts for battery sizing, installation, grid connection, and operation.
• Oversee battery projects from initial assessment and offer preparation through contracting, technical planning, execution, and commissioning.
• Define requirements and assist in selecting BESS, EMS, and medium-voltage station solutions.
• Coordinate with customers, utilities, authorities, suppliers, installers, and internal project teams.
• Establish repeatable processes and standards for developing and delivering battery projects.

Requirements

• A technical university degree in electrical engineering, energy engineering, or a related field.
• Professional experience in renewable-energy, electrical-infrastructure, or energy-storage projects.
• A good understanding of electrical systems, grid connections, and technical project delivery.
• Fluent German and English.

Nice to have

• Experience with BESS, medium-voltage systems, EMS integration, or project commissioning.
• French or Italian language skills.
