Lonza seeks a Biotechnologist for its Visp, Switzerland facility to support Life Sciences business growth through production operations, quality compliance, and team training.
This position is based at the Visp site in Switzerland and plays a key role in supporting expansion across multiple Life Sciences business units. The successful candidate will operate within production facilities, ensuring that daily manufacturing activities align with safety protocols and quality standards while contributing to the company's broader operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Carry out production tasks and related calculations while strictly adhering to safety rules and cGMP quality standards.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve any process deviations that occur during manufacturing.
- Assist in onboarding and training new staff members to ensure smooth team integration.
- Rotate through different functional areas within the production environment to gain broad operational experience.
Requirements
- Hold a completed degree or training in chemical or biopharmaceutical sciences.
- Demonstrate prior hands-on experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, such as roles as an operator or production technician.
- Apply a strong safety mindset in all daily activities.
- Possess a solid understanding of process engineering principles.
- Communicate fluently in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
- Be available for shift work, including a four-shift rotation, with flexibility in scheduling.

- Proficiency in the German language.
