CAPEX & engineering lead

The CAPEX & Engineering Lead role at Swiss Biotech Association focuses on scaling biomanufacturing infrastructure and executing large-scale capital investment projects at an industrial fermentation facility in Aarberg, CH.

This senior position is pivotal for expanding mycoprotein and precision fermentation production capabilities. The successful candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of multi-million euro capital projects, ensuring seamless execution from initial concept through to final commissioning across global locations.

Responsibilities

• Direct capital expenditure initiatives spanning multiple continents, guiding them from initial planning to operational readiness.
• Oversee every stage of project development, including front-end engineering design, technical engineering, procurement, construction, and startup phases.
• Coordinate with external contractors, EPCM partners, and internal teams to ensure alignment and smooth project flow.
• Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and operations departments to integrate project outcomes effectively.
• Spearhead efforts to optimize existing processes and facilitate plant expansion.
• Maintain strict oversight of project budgets, schedules, and potential risks.
• Guarantee adherence to safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and food-grade standards throughout all operations.
• Serve as a hands-on leader who connects strategic objectives with practical on-site implementation.
