Channel Manager

The company seeks a Senior Channel Manager in Haag, CH to oversee and grow its international distribution network across Europe and select markets, aligning indirect sales with corporate strategy.

This position is responsible for managing and expanding VAT's global network of distribution partners in Europe and other chosen international markets. The role focuses on driving growth through indirect sales channels while ensuring that all partner activities align closely with the company's overall sales strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and strategically develop the company's worldwide distribution partner network.
  • Drive transformation within the partner network by questioning current practices, refining the partner structure, and guiding partners through new programs, tools, and sales processes to boost performance.
  • Handle partner negotiations and manage changes within the channel.
  • Collaborate across internal business units to ensure the company's strategy is correctly executed in each partner's territory.
  • Track and enhance partner performance through defined KPIs and regular business reviews.
  • Keep an eye on the market, including competitor activities and technical or commercial trends.
  • Take part in routine sales meetings and help shape short- and medium-term sales plans.
  • Manage sales forecasts for assigned territories, providing clear, data-based insights into opportunities and risks.

Requirements

  • At least five years of sales experience, ideally within the vacuum sector or related high-tech fields like mechanical engineering or components.
  • Two years of experience managing indirect sales through channel partners.
  • Ability to design and roll out incentive programs for sales channel partners.
  • Experience in sales management for industrial and research clients in a technology-focused setting.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving or surpassing revenue and growth goals across multiple countries.
  • Strong ability to stay resilient under pressure, with excellent prioritization and multitasking capabilities.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills, capable of aligning various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence external partners.
  • Analytical and structured approach, comfortable using pipeline data, KPIs, and forecasts to guide business decisions.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, are required.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30-40% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of German or additional languages is considered a plus.
