Clinical DM SAS Programmer

IQVIA AG seeks a Senior Clinical DM SAS Programmer to lead database design and programming efforts, ensuring technical excellence and team mentorship within the Clinical Data Programming department.

This position functions as a Lead Programmer within the Clinical Data Programming department. The individual is expected to independently deliver project solutions to both internal CDP teams and the broader department, driving technical outcomes and supporting strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of clinical systems, including planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and user support.
• Deliver advanced technical guidance to internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Write, test, and document database code in strict adherence to established programming standards and validation protocols.
• Execute database manipulations and manage data transfers for various client groups.
• Provide mentorship and training to team members and other Lead Programmers to enhance technical and database competencies.
• Partner with IT departments to assess, develop, and roll out new technologies.
• Create, update, and maintain core operating procedures and working instructions in collaboration with CDP management.
• Achieve assigned milestones by coordinating timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables with the project team.
• Foster strong communication and working relationships with internal teams and external clients.
• Engage with corporate and Clinical Data Management (CDM) teams to negotiate project timelines and deliverables.
• Identify opportunities for process innovation and implement improvements where possible.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of relevant professional experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and practical experience.
• Proficient in Oracle, SAS, Python, and R.
• Strong understanding of the clinical drug development process and clinical domain knowledge.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and technical database skills.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, and clients.

Nice to have

• Experience with leading-edge technologies is considered an advantage.
• Advanced knowledge of VGL, BizTalk, C#, or .NET specifically for Laboratory Data Programming.
