Genedata in Basel seeks a Senior R&D Scientist in Scientific Data Analytics to design and implement advanced data workflows for Screener® and Chromatics® platforms, supporting pharmaceutical scientists with data-driven solutions.
This role focuses on developing scientific data analysis workflows that enhance Genedata’s Screener® and Chromatics® platforms. It sits at the crossroads of science, data analytics, and software engineering, supporting pharmaceutical researchers in making data-informed decisions. The position is part of the Screener business unit in Basel and reports to the Head of Science.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and implement scientific data analysis workflows for Genedata Screener®.
- Convert complex scientific methods into enterprise-ready software components and licensable modules.
- Work with software engineers in an agile/SCRUM setting to deliver reliable, production-grade solutions.
- Consult with pharmaceutical scientists to turn their data analysis needs into automated workflows.
- Analyze life science experimental data, conduct feasibility assessments, and ensure statistical and mathematical accuracy in implemented methods.
Requirements
- PhD in physics, biophysics, applied mathematics, data science, bioinformatics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Several years of experience in scientific programming and workflow development.
- Proven experience in analyzing life science data, including high-throughput screening, dose-response, and biophysical assays.
- Strong skills in Python and scientific computing libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and pandas.
- Track record of delivering software solutions used by end users in professional or enterprise environments.
Nice to have
- Experience with Java programming.
- Prior work in agile/SCRUM development environments.
- Background in pharmaceutical, biotech, or contract research organizations.
