Scientist, Pharmaceutical Development & Data Analytics _2 years temporary contract

Roche seeks a mid-level Scientist in Pharmaceutical Development & Data Analytics for a 2-year temporary full-time role in Basel, Switzerland. The position involves parenteral formulation development, data integration, and regulatory documentation within the Pharma Technical Development department.

This role is part of the Pharmaceutical Development department within Pharma Technical Development at Roche’s Basel site. The department oversees the development of parenteral drug products from Phase 1 through market launch, including formulation and manufacturing process development for all clinical stages.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of parenteral formulations for clinical trials and market launch, including line extensions.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data across the department to support development activities.
• Conduct data mining and pattern discovery using advanced statistical and machine learning methods.
• Serve as a pharmaceutical project leader in global CMC teams and represent the function in cross-functional and global committees.
• Prepare drug product sections for clinical IND/IMPDs and regulatory MAAs.

Requirements

• Hold a Ph.D. in chemical, process, or bioprocess engineering, or a related field.
• Alternatively, hold a master’s degree in the same fields with at least 3 years of industry experience in a pharmaceutical company.
• Demonstrated experience in managing large data sets and using scripting for data analysis.
• Strong grasp of statistical modeling, including linear and logistic regression, cluster analysis, time-series forecasting, longitudinal data analysis, and multivariate testing.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical product development processes and associated requirements.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for clinical and commercial development stages.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills with a global and end-to-end perspective.
