Commercial Category Manager – E-Commerce

Entyre & Pflegewegweiser seeks a Commercial Category Manager for its e-commerce startup in Zurich. This builder role involves owning category economics, sourcing, and pricing within a high-agency, hybrid environment.

The company is scaling an e-commerce venture from the ground up and needs a hands-on leader to establish its commercial foundation. Reporting directly to the Chief Business Development Officer, the successful candidate will manage the full P&L for the category, driving growth through strategic sourcing, data-driven pricing, and robust supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete lifecycle of category economics, including product assortment, purchase volumes, and pricing strategies.
• Identify and vet new suppliers and manufacturers, leading negotiations to secure long-term partnerships.
• Maintain inventory levels and ensure competitive sourcing by managing the ordering process.
• Handle vendor and product registration to ensure compliance with Swiss import and approval standards.
• Collaborate with procurement, customer service, and leadership teams to translate market insights into business decisions.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in analyzing large datasets and spreadsheets to create evidence-based recommendations.
• A structured, first-principles approach to problem-solving with a strong sense of ownership.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and a preference for creating processes from scratch.
• Strong negotiation skills and a focus on building lasting professional relationships.
• Fluency in both German and English.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or e-commerce roles.
• Knowledge of Swiss healthcare regulations, including KVG, MiGeL, and customs procedures.
• Background in consulting or strategic planning.
