Computer Vision Engineer

Destinusgroup, based in Zürich, seeks a Senior Computer Vision Engineer to advance autonomous flight systems. The role focuses on developing and refining AI-driven computer vision algorithms for safety-critical aviation applications.

This position is central to advancing autonomous flight technologies by improving machine perception and decision-making. The engineer will work on evolving existing algorithms and creating new ones to enhance accuracy, reliability, and adaptability in complex environments. Daedalean AG, the AI and autonomy hub of Destinus Group, combines aerospace engineering with artificial intelligence to build next-generation unmanned aerial systems for mission-critical operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement computer vision algorithms and deep learning models for tasks such as localization, mapping, object detection, tracking, classification, and image processing.
• Work with engineering teams in flight testing, hardware, and sensor fusion to integrate computer vision solutions into prototypes and final products.
• Assess system performance, robustness, and reliability through testing in simulated and real-world conditions.

Requirements

• Strong programming ability in C++
• Practical experience with computer vision, including classical methods and deep learning approaches
• Direct experience using tools such as OpenCV, PyTorch, and TensorFlow
• Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
