Computer Vision Engineer

Harmattan AI in Lausanne, CH, seeks a mid-level Computer Vision Engineer to develop core technical components for robotics and aerospace projects. The role requires expertise in ML/CV, Python, and data-driven algorithm development, with a focus on real-world deployment and continuous improvement.

This position is central to advancing core technical capabilities for Harmattan AI’s robotics and aerospace initiatives, contributing to the development of autonomous defense systems through cutting-edge computer vision solutions.

Responsibilities

• Research and apply advanced computer vision techniques to support project goals.
• Help create and manage datasets for training and validation, ensuring high data quality.
• Conduct statistical evaluations and build visualization tools to monitor data integrity.
• Design and improve training pipelines and performance metrics for machine learning models.
• Develop and optimize computer vision algorithms tailored to robotics and aerospace applications.
• Deploy machine learning and computer vision models into production environments.
• Integrate solutions with Harmattan AI’s existing systems and perform thorough code reviews.
• Test algorithms in real-world conditions and build monitoring tools to track performance.
• Continuously monitor and enhance the performance of deployed models.
• Collaborate with software and simulation teams to ensure alignment with system needs.
• Present technical findings clearly to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from a top-tier institution; a PhD is preferred.
• Solid background in mathematics, programming (Python, with C++ being an advantage), and hands-on experience in machine learning and computer vision projects.
• Strong interest in machine learning and computer vision technologies.
• Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
