Harmattan AI in Lausanne seeks a mid-level Computer Vision Engineer to develop the front-end of its visual inertial odometry (VIO) stack. The role involves algorithm development, calibration, obstacle detection, and optimization for embedded systems, with collaboration across engineering teams.
This position focuses on advancing the front-end of the visual inertial odometry (VIO) algorithmic stack, contributing to the core navigation system for autonomous defense platforms. The engineer will work on real-time processing, sensor integration, and system validation to support the company’s mission of scalable, autonomous defense solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement VIO front-end algorithms, including frame and stereo pair matching
- Calibrate camera intrinsic and extrinsic parameters for accurate sensor fusion
- Identify and detect obstructions in visual data streams
- Optimize and deploy the algorithmic stack for embedded hardware platforms
- Test and validate algorithms in both simulated and real-world conditions
- Work closely with system, optical, and software engineers to integrate and refine solutions
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Robotics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Solid mathematical background and programming proficiency in Python and C++
- Practical experience in developing VIO systems
- Strong interest in computer vision and robotics applications
- Effective communication and collaborative abilities

- PhD in Robotics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
