Embodied AI SA seeks a Junior-mid level Robotics and AI Engineer in Lausanne to build full-stack robotic solutions. The role combines hardware, control, and AI to solve real-world problems.
This position sits within a rapidly expanding team dedicated to creating advanced AI and robotics applications for practical challenges. The engineer will tackle end-to-end robotic systems, integrating hardware components, control interfaces, and artificial intelligence to deliver functional solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop robot software by integrating low-level and high-level controllers, AI policies, and feedback mechanisms to achieve specific tasks.
- Build and refine prototypes for AI-driven control systems.
- Handle core robotic software engineering duties, including hardware drivers, camera integration, computer vision, and state machine logic.
- Travel to client locations to install and deploy robotic systems as required.
- Coordinate with cross-functional team members and adapt to shifting project priorities.
Requirements
- Possess between zero and five years of professional work experience.
- Demonstrate practical experience with physical robots in the context of AI and robotic software development.
- Have prior work involving AI policies for robotic manipulation tasks.
- Show experience developing or working on actual robotic hardware systems.
- Be familiar with edge computing implementations on robotic platforms.
- Utilize ROS2, Docker, and collaborative Git workflows.
- Have a track record of delivering robotic projects under tight deadlines, such as in competitions or hackathons.
- Hold citizenship from a Schengen Area country.
Nice to have
- Background in industrial software engineering.
- An approach that prioritizes aesthetics and demo readiness in work output.
