ABB Power Grids seeks a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer in Zürich to lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives, optimize value streams, and drive operational efficiency within the Generator Circuit-Breaker team.
This position sits within the Generator Circuit-Breaker Quality & Continuous Improvement Team based in Oerlikon, Zurich. The primary purpose of the role is to identify opportunities for enhancement, implement strategic changes to boost efficiency, lower costs, and elevate the quality of products and services across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage the continuous improvement framework and oversee the portfolio of governing improvement projects.
- Support the execution of high-impact projects that align with the business's savings and efficiency goals.
- Implement, assess, and enhance performance using the Lighthouse Framework.
- Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives by applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
- Analyze and map organizational value streams to identify bottlenecks and waste.
- Conduct regular Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) analyses to pinpoint issues and establish sustainable corrective actions.
- Facilitate sessions to generate new improvement ideas among team members.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to uncover areas for operational enhancement.
- Contribute to ongoing digitalization efforts within the company.
- Build and expand Lean Six Sigma expertise and competency across the workforce.
- Serve as a deputy for final inspections, defining and executing improvements to enhance factory quality standards.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional experience in a comparable role.
- Demonstrated success in leading Continuous Improvement or Lean Six Sigma projects.
- Strong ability to influence stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Expertise in managing and driving organizational change.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to develop long-term plans.
Nice to have
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Proficiency with digital tools including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Query, and VBA.
- Proficiency in the German language.
