SHL Medical seeks a Senior CI Engineer to lead lean transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations in Switzerland.
This position partners with various business units to enhance manufacturing and operational workflows through lean principles. The role drives lean transformation efforts to foster a culture focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and world-class manufacturing standards. It involves identifying improvement opportunities, managing cross-functional projects, and training staff on continuous improvement tools to support company growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement programs to embed lean principles into daily operations.
- Mentor Lean Champions to independently lead departmental improvement efforts.
- Justify cost-saving initiatives aligned with lean projects.
- Collaborate with Lean Champions to meet performance targets and develop action plans.
- Eliminate waste and enhance customer satisfaction using lean methodologies.
- Analyze processes, create models, perform Value Stream Mapping, and implement tools like SMED, visual management, Kanban, Kaizen, 6S, and Gemba Walks.
- Train employees on lean tools and techniques to support the company's CI training program.
- Cultivate a lean-focused culture with emphasis on 6S best practices.
- Plan and execute lean activities to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
- Follow quality policies, GMP standards, and EHS regulations.
- Uphold and promote SHL's cultural values and strategies.
Requirements
- Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 years of experience in lean or high-volume manufacturing as a Process, Industrial, Lean, or CI Engineer.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in descriptive and enumerative statistical methods.
- Ability to apply lean and continuous improvement tools for measurable results.
- Proficiency in office applications and statistical software like Minitab, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Excellent English communication skills, including technical report writing.
