Customer Quality Engineer

Johnson Electric seeks a Customer Quality Engineer in Murten, Switzerland, to act as the primary liaison for customer quality matters, ensuring high satisfaction and effective problem resolution within the automotive sector.

This position functions as the Voice of the Customer for the Murten site, bridging communication between external clients and internal teams. The role collaborates closely with quality colleagues in Serbia and Hungary to drive customer satisfaction through clear and effective stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for customer quality issues, focusing on maintaining high satisfaction levels.
• Handle customer complaints and escalations by applying robust problem-solving techniques, ensuring clear communication, and closing 8D reports promptly.
• Manage both internal and external change processes, including submitting change requests, notifying customers, assessing impacts, securing approvals, and following up on implementation.
• Lead the creation, submission, and approval of PPAP packages, ensuring they meet specific customer standards and project deadlines.
• Represent the company during customer audits, site visits, and quality review meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of experience in customer quality, quality engineering, or similar roles within the automotive industry.
• Deep understanding of IATF 16949 standards, customer-specific requirements (CSR), and Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC).
• Demonstrated expertise in managing customer complaints, utilizing root cause analysis methods (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, PDCA), and applying problem-solving frameworks.
• Practical experience handling customer change requests, serial-life modifications, and PPAP submissions.
• Experience interacting with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, including participating in customer audits and managing escalations.
• Fluency in both French and English is mandatory.

• Proficiency in German is considered a significant advantage.
