Quality Assurance Engineer – Raumfahrt / Quality Assurance / EN9100, ECSS, NASA, MIL

ITech Consult AG seeks a mid-level Quality Assurance Engineer in Emmen, CH, to develop and verify quality requirements for space-related manufacturing, ensuring compliance with EN9100, ECSS, NASA, and MIL standards.

The company is looking for a professional to manage quality assurance requirements and serve as the primary liaison between process engineering and operations. This role focuses on implementing quality programs, verifying safety protocols, and ensuring that manufacturing activities align with product assurance standards.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain quality assurance standards and foster a quality-focused culture by collaborating with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to optimize processes and costs.
• Serve as the primary contact for process engineering and operations regarding all quality and safety matters.
• Identify and establish critical-to-quality features alongside process engineering and operations teams.
• Spearhead investigations into non-conformances and failures when product or process standards are not met.
• Oversee and guide the development and qualification of the Internal Manufacturing Assembly Integration and Test (MAIT) process for all quality-related aspects.
• Establish and track metrics for measuring and test equipment, measurement system analysis, and process capability.
• Conduct quality inspections according to the product manufacturing inspection plan.
• Document key inspection points and mandatory inspection points to verify critical features and requirements.
• Implement the quality assurance program in line with project milestones.
• Guarantee the successful fulfillment of customer, regulatory, and internal requirements for operations execution.
• Translate customer critical-to-quality requirements into internal specifications and requirements.
• Lead and coordinate the internal process for non-conformance management.

Requirements

• Proven experience in quality management and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with standards such as EN9100, ECSS, NASA, and MIL.
• Ability to quickly grasp and analyze technical products and systems.
• Strong theoretical knowledge with the ability to coach practical elements on the floor.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with quality preventive methodologies like 5Why and Ishikawa Fishbone.
