Quality Assurance Engineer

Ultimo SA is seeking a Mid-level Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure platform quality and drive continuous improvement within an Agile team.

The Quality Assurance Engineer serves as a key member of the development team, guaranteeing that new features and enhancements align with established quality benchmarks before customer release. This role requires close cooperation with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to refine the platform. The position demands a blend of analytical problem-solving and a dedication to quality, thriving within Agile/Scrum workflows.

Responsibilities

• Validate colleague-developed updates against agreed specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in enhancing product functionality and general quality levels.
• Establish test specifications and define acceptance criteria.
• Prepare and run manual, automated, and UI-based tests.
• Record and share test cases, outcomes, and data.
• Provide guidance on potential risks and opportunities for quality enhancement.
• Review and approve code changes before merge and release.
• Support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Ultimo platform.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience as a QA Engineer or Software Tester.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Proven background in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Technical proficiency in XML, SQL, and related technologies.
• Hands-on experience with software development and test automation tools.
• Knowledge of TMAP and/or ISTQB methodologies.
• Intermediate-level experience in test automation.
• Capability to handle complex test scenarios autonomously.
• A completed HBO or equivalent degree in Technical Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Business IT & Management, Business Administration & IT, Software Engineering, or Software Testing.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with configuration tools and product knowledge is advantageous.
• Prior Ultimo experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
