This maternity cover position sits at the heart of the Strategic Intelligence platform, a system that merges expert analysis with automated data aggregation. The incumbent will be responsible for researching, writing, and refining content for this platform and other digital products, ensuring the organization delivers high-quality insights to its audience.
Responsibilities
- Edit and expand texts created by external specialists for the Transformation Maps series, guaranteeing precision and alignment with editorial guidelines.
- Design and create compelling data visualizations suitable for sharing.
- Oversee the incorporation of outside data sources into Strategic Intelligence reports.
- Produce and manage content for weekly and monthly newsletters, aiming to boost reader engagement.
- Explore new methods for presenting Strategic Intelligence material.
- Oversee the entire portfolio of Transformation Maps.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in journalism, communications, economics, public policy, international affairs, data science, or a closely related discipline.
- At least seven years of professional experience in data journalism, editorial work, research, or strategic intelligence.
- Demonstrated ability to transform complex research and data into accessible content for various readers.
- Strong editorial capabilities, including writing, editing, fact-checking, and curation, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Practical experience in data visualization and handling quantitative datasets to aid storytelling and analysis.
- Proficiency with analytics and visualization software such as Tableau, Flourish, Datawrapper, Power BI, or comparable tools.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while working closely with internal teams, external experts, and partners.
- Solid grasp of current global trends in economics, technology, society, and the environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
