Swisscom seeks a Senior Data Platform Engineer to operate, stabilize, and evolve its data platform. The role involves hands-on operations, automation, and architecture development using PostgreSQL, Python, and Kafka, with a hybrid work model in Switzerland.
This role focuses on maintaining and advancing the data platform landscape by combining operational support with strategic development. The engineer ensures system reliability while improving data flows, automation, and integrations, working within a modern, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance the reliability of the data platform through ongoing operations and evolution
- Create and implement solutions for operations, automation, data engineering, and integration tasks
- Standardize and automate infrastructure, setup, release, and runtime processes
- Assist with production-level troubleshooting, stabilization, migrations, handovers, and hypercare support
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, alerting, and runbook documentation
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a university, Fachhochschule, or Hochschule für Technik
- Several years of experience in platform operations, automation, data engineering, and integration
- Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, Python, and Kafka
- Proven experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, incremental data processing, data validation, deployment, version control, and monitoring, logging, and alerting in production
